Lisa Tovar, LCSW (Co-Owner)
Lisa is the Co-Owner of Treasure Valley Counseling and Wellness who is a compassionate and experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 16 years of work in the fields of mental health and crisis intervention. Her background spans hospitals, medical clinics, and community mental health settings, where she has consistently focused on creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment for those she serves.
Lisa is especially passionate about trauma-informed care, suicide prevention, and helping clients feel secure, understood, and empowered. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and personalized to meet each individual's unique needs.
David Tovar, MBA, LMSW (Co-Owner)
David Tovar is the co-owner of Treasure Valley Counseling and Wellness, where he combines clinical expertise with business leadership to support the mental health needs of Idaho communities.
Driven by a deep commitment to the overall well-being of Idahoans, David is passionate about expanding access to high-quality behavioral health services—especially in underserved and rural areas across the state. His mission is to ensure that every individual, no matter their location, can access the support they need to thrive.
David specializes in helping individuals overcome anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety, phobias, and OCD. Using CBT and Solution-Focused approaches, he provides practical tools to reduce symptoms, manage triggers, and build long-term resilience. He works with teens, young adults, and middle adults—ranging from athletes and high performers to busy professionals, individuals in crisis, and those navigating major life transitions. With experience in inpatient, outpatient, and crisis settings, David offers both in-person and Telehealth care that is focused, supportive, and results-driven.
Amanda Swindoll, LMSW
Amanda is a Licensed Master Social Worker with experience in outpatient therapy, inpatient treatment, and child welfare case management. She earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Boise State University and is passionate about helping clients navigate grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. Amanda specializes in working with individuals ages 10 and up through a telehealth-based, trauma-informed, and evidence-based approach, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and somatic interventions. Her goal is to provide compassionate, personalized care that promotes choice, dignity, and empowerment in every session.
